Eighteen years and 3 days before a Bass was recaptured about 1km below Somerset dam wall it was tagged in the lake and went over the dam wall sometime. This is the second longest time between tagging and recapture for a Bass. It was tagged at 260mm and recaptured at 425mm 6,577 days later. Growth rate of around 9mm/year shows how slow they can grow and how old a larger Bass might be. Photo is of a similar sized fish.
